Sketch Cards

It's really a great experience for us guys inside the studio to have participated with Upperdeck's marvel Masterpieces 2007 set. Mark Irwin from upperdeck told us that the set was a success and we are asked to participate on the next set. Aside from that, Rittenhouse Archives will be releasing their next batch of Marvel Trading card set: Women of Marvel somewhere in 2008.

Not all of us in the studio participated because of their busy schedule. We're still waiting for Rittenhouse to announce it before we post samples on our gallery, so that means no scans will be posted until the release date.lol

Anyway, Here's an image of Marvel Girl, Rachel Summers, Colored using colored pencils and markers with digital finishes:D

2007 Marvel Masterpieces Sketch Cards

One of the few projects that the whole team did for the months of July and August was drawing sketches for Upperdeck's 2007 Marvel Masterpieces Sketch Cards Series, where we spent most of our weekends sketching instead of going out to the mall... lol, each of us was granted 200 sketch cards to draw.

Here are some of the sketch cards:

Ariel Padilla

Dennis Crisostomo

Harvey Tolibao

Michael Jason Paz

Jim Jimenez

Lui Antonio's Crazy Interconnecting 5 Card Spread

Noah Salonga

Randy Monces

Stephen Segovia

and the only 4 Cards that i scanned... lol

There are a lot of talented artist and well known comic guys who shared their remarkable skills on upperdeck's marvel sketch card series, some of them are industry giants Travis Charest (WildC.A.T.s.), Arthur Adams (Longshot), Jason Pearson (Body Bags), Humberto Ramos (Wolverine), and Leinil Yu (New Avengers), to name a few. I've heard that joe Jusko also did a 5 card set.

Back to Work

Been busy working for a local game developing team the past few years and it's been a good experience for me since i only work as a freelancer before i joined them. I just resigned from work, that's because i started gettin all those freelance jobs from comics to game concepts meaning 'll be working back at home and i get to avoid all those nasty road traffics. One of the project that came to me was coloring Adventures of Spawn for Image comics, and guess what? it's already online now.. you can check the pages that i colored thru here>>> spawn.com. Thanks to Mr. Brian Haberlin of Haberlin Studios for giving me a break in international comicdom... lol [YAY!] . My account on deviantart has been hibernating for months now and I guess it's time for me to post new updates.

Now Blogging...

Everybody now even those people from the comic book industry are blogging these days. Not only you can use it as a journal but a substitue for a website too lol:D It's a lot more convenient and practical though, but it's still better to build your own website and have your own domain name:D). Well me and my studiomates were planning to build one of our own, maybe in time. Since we're still a newly formed group we decided to start with blogging first instead since most of us already have a deviantart accounts where we post most of our works. We'll be posting studio updates and pictures on our studioblog and showcase all of our talented rosters, so always keep in touch. Cheers!
